This play is the milestone by which other witty and whimsical plays are measured! A perennial audience favorite since its premier in 1895, The Importance of Being Ernest turns a truthful eye on the foibles of the “fin de siècle” British upper classes. It still entertains today with beauty of language and sparkling pace, while set in a period of beautiful design.
